Frequently Asked Questions

LASH INFO

Eyelash Extensions are used to enhance the look of one’s natural lashes. It is a non-invasive procedure that lengthens your natural lashes, with options to change the thickness and curl. Synthetic fibers are individually attached to each natural eyelash using a semi-permanent adhesive. They enhance the length, thickness, and curl of natural lashes, providing a fuller and more defined appearance without the need for mascara or strip lashes.
Eyelash Extensions are safe as long as the procedure is done by a certified and highly experienced lash technician.
Please refrain from wearing any makeup, or products that contain oils around the eye area. If you do happen to be wearing eye makeup, be prepared to remove it before your appointment. The oil from these products can be very hard to remove, this can affect the way your lashes adhere and how long they last. Avoid caffeine 24 hours prior to your appointment in order to keep your eyes as still as possible. We also recommend always using the bathroom before your appointment and dressing comfy in order to be as relaxed as possible!
You can choose your own style freely. In case you do need assistance, our lash specialists will give you their professional advice based on your eye shape, face shape, and your needs. If it is your first time, or would like to hear our expert opinion please book a complimentary consultation prior to your appointment.
The eyelash extensions will not damage your natural lashes. Remember our own natural lashes have their own cycle where they fall out and new lashes grow back, just like our hair. The cycle of our natural lashes takes 2-3 months. Be aware that our natural lashes shed during certain periods of the year. Our lash technicians will never allow you to make a choice that will result in any damage to your natural lashes.
Lash extensions can last 3-6 weeks depending on your natural lashes, how you take care of them, and what set you recieve. We typically recommend coming back for a refill every 2-3 weeks (please note we do not offer refills on classic light).
No, never apply mascara to your eyelash extensions.
Yes, Flux lash bar recommends Revive 7 as an eyelash extension safe serum. Please consult with your technician for more information.
Do not get your lashes wet for the first 24 hours after your appointment, the glue must dry completely. Do not use waterproof eyeliner, or any type of mascara. Also, avoid using oil- based makeup remover, you can use anything that is water based. To cleanse your lashes daily, use Lash Shampoo. Refrain from rubbing your eyes, or pulling out the lashes.
Don’t get too close to fire, your lashes are now longer than what you are used to! The fire will burn these lashes, and possibly cause some serious damage! Avoid direct heat from the sun, this exposure for long periods of time can cause your lashes to fall out. If you have any concerns such as being allergic to glue, tell us ASAP so we can do an allergy test before the application process.
If you need to make a cancellation or are running late please let us know as soon as possible! You can do this by sending us an email, text, or giving us a call! All appointments require a valid credit card in order to hold your appointment. No charges will be made to your appointment unless you no-show or cancel within 48 hours. if you are more than 15 mins late your appointment will also be considered a no-show. Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to your appointment. If your cancellation is not made within the appropriate time frame, you will be charged a 50% fee of your total service. We are so sorry about any inconveniences this may cause, and hope you understand that our time is very valuable.

BROW INFO

Brow Lamination is a non-invasive 5-step procedure that manipulates the direction of your
brow hairs to achieve a fuller, fluffier look. After cleansing the brows, we use adhesive, a
perming solution, setting solution, and finish off by replenishing any proteins or nutrients
stripped from your brow hairs with a nourishing treatment. The products we use contain a
protein composition that includes keratin to create a protective film around the hair, encouraging
brow growth.
Brow Lamination usually lasts 6-8 weeks, but may vary depending on skin type, lifestyle, your
brow hair’s natural growth cycle/type, and ability to follow the aftercare.
Brow Lamination is the perfect service to get if you aren’t ready to commit to a
semi-permanent procedure, but still want to walk away with fuller-looking brows. However, there
are some factors that can affect your results or can cause a negative reaction to the service. If
any of the below apply to you, then Brow Lamination may not be the best service for you at this
time:

Pregnant and/or breastfeeding
Alopecia or any medical conditions that cause hair loss
Super fine hairs
Sensitive skin
Henna Brows is a treatment that stains your skin and hair in a defined shape to give you a
fuller brow look.
If both the pre-care and aftercare are followed properly, then your Henna Brows can last up
to 2 weeks on your skin and up to 4-6 weeks on your hairs. Results may vary depending on skin
type, hair type, and lifestyle.
Henna Brows is a great option to get the perfect filled-in look, tinting both your brow hairs
and your skin in your desired shape. However, if any of the following apply to you, then our
Henna Brows service may not be the best option for you at this time:

Pregnant and/or breastfeeding
Naturally very oily skin
Very sensitive skin
Already have dark and full brows
Irritated or wounded skin around the brow area
Allergic or sensitive to hair dyes (including PPD)
Allergic or sensitive to Henna

LIP BLUSH

Lip blushing involves using microneedles to tattoo ink into the lips, enhancing their natural colour. This procedure is designed to even out or add colour by addressing pigment deficiencies. Initially, your lips will appear darker, resembling lipstick, but as they heal, they will transform into a subtle and natural-looking lip tint.
Individual outcomes may differ, and following your first session and touch-up, the longevity of your results is expected to range from 2 to 5 years. The need for additional touch-ups depends on individual factors and the desired aesthetic. It’s crucial to note that semi-permanent makeup ink has a different composition than body art ink and is intentionally formulated to have a shorter lifespan.
  • During the initial healing period, there should be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. If there is scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own.
  • Expect the colour to eventually lighten by up to 40% once the healing process is complete.
  • Colour may appear uneven at different stages of healing. Be patient. This is a process that does not yield immediate results.

Lip blushing does not hurt.

It can take up to 2.5-3.5 hours for the procedure, this is dependent on the clients lips. We first wrap the lips with a papaya mask to nourish your lips. We sanitize the lips with iodine with a q-tip. We then exfoliate the lips with a gentle lip scrub. We then apply numbing cream only around the outer sides of the lips and we live this on for 5 – 10 minutes. We mostly apply it around the outer lips. We use a medical claw that we put in your mouth to isolate your teeth and lips to ensure you’re not ingesting anything toxic/harmful.

Will I still have to wear lipstick and can other colors still look the same on top?

This is up to the look each individual is trying to achieve. Using lipstick is not needed, however, with lip blushing – it’s easier to wear different shades of lipstick, that way when you do decide to change it up and want to wear lipstick it will still look great over top, and can cover your tattoo with whatever color we decide to use. Lip blushing will actually enhance the lipstick.

Lip blushing is not for everyone. Please read the contraindications carefully. If any of the following apply to you, this procedure is not recommended:

  • You are a smoker (pigment may not retain properly, colors may distort).
  • If you have a history of MRSA
  • You have psoriasis in the treatment area.
  • You have an auto-immune disease.
  • You have thyroid/graves disease (medication may cause pigment to not retain properly).
  • You have anemia (pigment may not retain properly).
  • You have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring.
  • You are currently undergoing chemotherapy.
  • You are pregnant or nursing. (You cannot have this service. No exceptions.)
  • You have Diabetes type 1 or 2 (due to slow healing and infection, color may or may not retain well).
  • If you are under a doctor’s care and have questions at ALL about being able to have this procedure, it is your responsibility to meet with your doctor and get written approval.
  • If you are prone to cold sores, please see instructions below.

Please note: even if none of the above apply, lip blushing cannot be guaranteed. This is a cosmetic tattooing procedure, the skin can be unpredictable, it is up to your skin to retain the pigment. Generally, results are successful, however, due to skin type, healing or bleeding during the procedure, some results can differ.

General Precautions:

If you are prone to cold sores, lip tattooing CAN cause outbreaks, which can result in loss of pigment. Until the cold-sore is fully recovered, we will not be able to do the lip blushing procedure on an ACTIVE cold-sore. Consult with your doctor for any additional questions. If you have an outbreak, or any other type of scratch/acne/open-wound on your lip, we ask that you reschedule your appointment as soon as possible. If you show up with any type of outbreak, your appointment is considered canceled and you forfeit your deposit.

  • Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oils, vitamin E, niacin, or drink excessive alcohol at least 48 hours prior to and after your procedure.
  • Do not take any prescription blood thinners at least 48 hours prior to and after your procedure.
  • Discontinue any vitamin A skin care products (Retin-A, retinols) close to the enhancement area at least two weeks prior to your procedure. **We recommend NOT using these products over or around the tattooed area after you receive your cosmetic tattoo. It could cause fading and distortion of color.**
  • Discontinue use of AHA (chemical exfoliation) skin care products close to the area to be tattooed at least one week prior to your procedure.
  • No laser or electrolysis on or around the treatment area one week prior to procedure.
  • No botox or fillers in the procedure area less than 4-6 months prior.
  • Plan trips or events a minimum of 14 days after the procedure. Due to unwanted elements, limit the amount of caffeine you consume the morning of your appointment.
  • We recommend that you come 10 days prior to an upcoming menstrual cycle.
  • Do not have any chemical peels, dermabrasions, mesotherapy, or any other intense treatments which will cause faster skin cell rejuvenation and cause skin irritation 3-4 weeks before the procedure.
  • If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least one year before considering this procedure.
  • It is highly recommended that you avoid SUN and TANNING BED exposure for 30 days BEFORE and AFTER your procedure. If you show up for your appointment with a new tan or a sunburn, you will need to reschedule and will forfeit your booking fee. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it.
